CoastSweep Beach Clean Up Awareness!

We had a wonderful early-release afternoon with our Blue Stars!

We started by learning about Coast Sweep and why it’s important to keep our oceans and beaches clean. The kids colored flyers and then headed out into the neighborhood to deliver them to local homes, spreading awareness and encouraging our neighbors to help keep our coastlines and beaches clean!

Later in the afternoon, we learned about why picking up trash is so important and how litter can harm our Earth. We put our learning into action by heading out for a neighborhood trash pickup, focusing on Burr Park and the area around our friends at Bigelow Middle School. The kids did a great job working together to help keep our community clean!

September's theme was an introduction to Service Stars, with a focus on the many ways we can help people, animals, and the Earth. In October, we’ll be exploring a new theme, Creating Community, and discovering how we can build stronger, more connected communities through kindness and service.
