Make a Difference With an Internship or Volunteer Position at Service Stars!
Thank you for your interest in getting involved with Service Stars! Our program's mission is to expose young children to local charities, develop empathy for those in need, and engage children in the benefits of helping others, all while having fun and working as a team!
Our interns and volunteers play an important role in creating safe, fun and engaging experiences. Whether you love working with kids, can lend a hand behind the scenes or simply have time to give, there are many ways to get involved.
2026/2027 Opportunities
We are currently looking for interns and volunteers for the following programs:
Tuesday After School Program - Weekly 3:00pm - 5:30pm
Wednesday Early Release Program - Weekly 12:30pm - 4:00pm or 4:00pm - 5:30pm
Vacation Days - Monday, 9/21 | Tuesday, 11/3 | Wednesday, 11/11 | Monday, 1/18 | Friday, 3/26 - 8:30 - 3:00pm
NPS Early Release Days - Tuesday, 9/29 | Tuesday, 10/27 | Thursday 12/3 | Thursday 2/4 | Thursday 3/18 | Thursday 5/6 - 12:30pm - 3:30pm
Winter Break Camp - Monday 12/28 - Thursday 12/31 8:30am - 3:00pm
February Break Camp - Monday 2/15 - Friday 2/19 8:30am - 3:00pm
April Break Camp - Tuesday 4/20 - Friday 4/23 8:30am - 3:00pm
Summer Camp 2027 - Weeks of 8/9, 8/16, 8/23 8:30am - 3:00pm

Requirements
Interns and volunteers must have an interest in community service and be reliable, independent, self starters with positive attitudes.
Interns take on a more consistent role with Service Stars and are expected to commit to a full program (ex. Tuesday After School) or session (ex. Winter Break Camp).
Volunteers can support Service Stars on a more flexible basis, helping with individual programs, special events, projects, donation deliveries, and other needs throughout the year.
Our kids and staff count on our interns and volunteers to show up consistently and be an active part of the program. Because building relationships and providing a dependable experience for our kids takes time, we ask that you only sign up if you can make a reliable commitment.
Interns must commit to the full length of their assigned program or internship period
Program volunteers must commit to the agreed-upon schedule for the opportunity they select
Consistency and reliability are essential — please arrive on time and be ready to actively participate
If your schedule changes, we expect as much advance notice as possible.
Before committing, please make sure the opportunity realistically works with your school, work, extracurricular, and personal schedule.
When you commit to Service Stars, we’re counting on you and so are our kids.
Responsibilities
Assist children in completing service projects and donation efforts
Play with students during recess and choice time
Engage in group games
Help the program to run smoothly
Share a skill, talent or area of expertise (if interested)
