Service Stars is a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching young children the value of community service through engaging, age-appropriate volunteer opportunities. Our programs introduce children to the work of local nonprofits, develop empathy for those in need, and engage children in the benefits of helping others, all while having fun and working as a team!
About the Position:
Service Stars is seeking a dynamic, community-minded educator to partner with our team in delivering our service learning curriculum for children in grades K - 8. Our ideal candidate will enthusiastically cultivate a passion for community service among our students. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree and classroom teaching experience. This is a part-time position with flexible hours in Newton, MA. Must be available during school hours and/or during after school programming. Pay is hourly and negotiable.
Responsibilities:
Must be available during school hours and/or during after school programming
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Implement a variety of community service lessons and projects
Plan and implement engaging age appropriate activities
Supervise and ensure the safety of students at all times
Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student engagement and behavior
Work collaboratively with the other teachers in the program
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Classroom teaching experience
Passion for community service, education, or youth development
