I am excited to be part of the Service Stars team this year! I co-lead the Tuesday afterschool program. I have been working in Newton Public Schools for the past eight years as a K-5 art teacher at Burr School. I hold a BFA and M. Ed in Art Education, both from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston. I was drawn to Service Stars because of their dedication to community service, and their artistic projects that go along with it! In addition to teaching art and working at Service Stars, I am a very involved member of the Newton Teachers Association, advocating for teachers and students throughout the city. When I am not teaching in Newton, I am at home in Hudson with my fiancé named Chris, puppy named Huey, and cat named Elsa, probably eating ice cream or reading a good book.
